Requirements

On behalf of Jack Morton Dubai, we provided end-to-end production for the Opening Ceremony and inaugural week’s celebrations. The first universal museum of the Arab world, the Louvre Abu Dhabi contains 600 works and 12 other museums.

It was a huge technical challenge working in a building that is a work of art in itself, where all evidence of ‘production’ needed to go unseen.

We handled the technical design and direction, site management and show production.

Project Highlights

Without doubt, the toughest technical challenge we faced was recreating the ‘rain of light’, a main feature of Jean Nouvel’s dramatic architectural vision. We were tasked with creating ‘sun raining down into the building’ without revealing any of our 500 lights.

Our team successfully pulled off this remarkable feat, bringing together a dramatic lighting display and a 60-strong orchestra in perfect synchronicity on the night. The toughest challenge undoubtedly providing the proudest moments for us all.
